Recent Awards

This past month, a few of my paintings were recognized with nice awards. I was very honored that Southern Ground Hornbill was awarded the President's Award from the Society of Animal Artists during the opening festivities of the 52nd Annual Exhibition at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in Oradell, NJ. The exhibit is on view at the Blauvelt until January 2013. This painting was also selected from the exhibit for a national museum tour. The tour dates are as follows:

I was also happy to learn that Fired Up received an award for Best Head Portrait at the American Academy of Equine Art Fall Open Juried Exhibition. The show was on display at the Scott County Arts & Cultural Center in Georgetown, KY. The recognition for this painting was nice because this is the first time one of my oil paintings have received an award. It's encouragement to push on with the oils!
