More Progress on the Screech Owl

A little more progress on the screech owl. More details were added on the owl's facial feathers, his eyes, and beak. The head is finished at this point. I'm starting to fill in the background now with the pine branches he's nestled in.

Kelly, your work is fantastic, the eyes are so alive! May I ask, what support are you painting on?

Hi Barbara, thank you for the nice comment. The support I am using is an Ampersand Aquabord (formerly known as Textured Claybord). I like to work on a slightly textured surface, but right out of the package these are a little too textured for my liking so I knock off some of the bumps with a fine grit sandpaper before I use them.
