Finished - Great Horned Owl Commission

I put the finishing touches on the great horned owl this morning. I'm calling this one High Roost. I hope my client likes it! On to the next one - a screech owl. Look for its start here soon.

Great work as usual Kelly. I saw a mounted specimen of a Great Horned Owl a couple of weeks ago which is about as close to the real thing as I'm ever likely to get! They certainly are an impressive creature.

Peter: Thank you! Yes, great horned owls are impressive. They stare right through you with their big yellow eyes. I was only a few feet from this owl at a raptor photo shoot. Her handler told me she was ferocious and has laid into her many times with her talons and beak. She had the scars to prove it!
