I really enjoy seeing your pieces come into being like this. This one is at that beautiful stage where the abstract qualities of the overall image are dominant. As the bird comes into focus and the background recedes a bit, that abstraction will still be there, but a little quieter. Having done lots of public demonstrations lately, I'm impressed by how a view of such stages can help people appreciate how the artist sees, plans, and thinks through the possibilities of every new painting.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying the WIPs. I hope that they are helpful. My plan with this piece is to keep most of the background a little abstracted, keeping the bird and just a few twigs in detail.
